Dental Extraction

When a tooth cannot be saved, we focus on a controlled, comfortable extraction. The Smile Club team walks you through why the tooth needs to come out, how we numb the area, and what healing looks like over the next few days. No rushed chair time, no surprise steps.

Extractions are recommended when decay, fracture, infection, or gum disease has left a tooth beyond reliable repair, or when keeping it would risk the teeth around it. We would rather save a tooth when we can. When we cannot, the goal is a smooth removal and a socket that heals cleanly.

A typical simple extraction is booked for about 30 minutes. You stay numb through the visit. We use controlled pressure, place gauze, and talk through aftercare before you stand up. Impacted or surgical cases need a different plan. We will tell you honestly if that is your situation.

Who this visit is for: patients with a tooth that hurts on biting, will not settle after temporary care, or has been flagged on exam as unrestorable. Share blood thinners, medical conditions, and swelling when you book so we prepare safely.

After the tooth is out: rest, soft foods, and no straws or smoking while the socket forms a clot. Replacement options (bridge, partial, implant referral path) can be discussed when you are ready. Ask the team. We will not invent a timeline we cannot keep.

Duration: 30 mins

Bite on gauze as directed. Rest, keep your head elevated, and use cold packs in short sessions the first day. Soft foods and gentle salt rinses (when we say it is safe) help healing.
